TCA is pleased to announce the online merchandise store offered by Olympian is now open. You can access the online store using the link listed below until 2359hrs on April 4th, 2021. Please note, the reason for the tight deadline is to hopefully receive items purchased by the 1st week of this season.

2021 Provincial Championship Coaching Standards For Alternate Provincials
Note: Alternate Provincial Championships will be utilized if we still have restrictions in place due to COVID-19
If Provincial Championships go as planned there will be no changes to coaching certification requirements. However, if we must utilize our alternate COVID-19 format for Provincials, we will not require any certification other than the Respect in Sport (RiS) for all coaches on the Provincial Roster. Exception: Teams registering in a Provincial Championship category leading to a Canadian or Western Canadian Championship must meet the coaching Standards outlined in the 2021 Canadian & Western Canadian Championship Coaching Standards outlined below.
Regardless of the format we use for Provincials we will also require all teams to have one (1) coach as the same gender as the category the team is registering in.
2021 Canadian & Western Canadian Championship Coaching Standards
Head and Assistant Coaches are eligible to participate at Canadian Championships upon completion of the following:
1. Foundations of Coaching Softball – Part 1
2. Foundations of Coaching Softball – Part 2
3. Make Ethical Decisions (MED) Online Evaluation

  • All the above are available online through the Coaching Association of Canada’s ‘Locker’ which can be found at
Coaches who are Competition-Introduction Trained (with MED Evaluation) or Competition-Introduction Certified already meet eligibility requirements. All other coaches require the 3 components stated.
Coaches who do not meet these standards can still be listed on the Officials Players List (OPL) but cannot go in the Coaches box or on the field of play during the game.
Coaches are encouraged to take the Make Ethical Decisions Online Workshop (through the Coaching Association of Sask. at a coast of $50 (3.5hour clinic) before proceeding to the MED Online Evaluation. Once MED training is complete coaches have free unlimited attempts at successfully passing the Evaluation. IF coaches choose to go straight to Evaluation, there is an $85 fee with 2 attempts to successfully pass the Evaluation. If they are not successful, they will need to complete the MED training.
Softball Saskatchewan will be applying this coach certification standard for all teams attending a Canadian Championship in the 2021 season.
EXCEPTION: For the inaugural U12 Boys Western Canadians all teams will require a minimum of one (1) coach to have their Foundations of Coaching Softball (FOCS) Part 1 online training.

What is Timbits Softball?

Formally known as Learn to Play, Timbits Softball is a nationally regulated softball program for ages 5-10. This program is the first exposure to our sport for both our parents and players. We want to prepare our parents and coaches as best we can by providing them with a free parent/coach clinic. At this clinic you will be taken through the program and the manual, which includes lesson plans and how to teach skills, and you will participate in a mini skills clinic to show you how to teach the skills. After taking our orientation, you will be equipped to run an organized, fun, active practice, and modified games that focuses on skill development.
